Select Real Photographs from the Mid 1920’s
of Schools & Children
These were the most helpful 24 images among the hundreds found of children of the era, thanks to the new portable “home” cameras from Eastman Kodak.
From these were drawn inspiration and used to seek out vintage patterns to settle the debate of “apron vs smock” and what the children really wore. These photos are from the mid-1920’s in the United States, and focus on rural children, their teachers and rural schools similar to Middleton School in Wyoming. Other photos of city and more formal garments will follow:
