1860 Orphan

This depiction is of a 5-6 year old girl. It is a “Rags to Riches” story of hope in the wartime and industrialized world at the start of the Civil War.  Like Pip in “Great Expectations” and the poor starving boy in “Les Miserables”, hers is the story of a young orphan on the street that is saved by a loving family headed by a strong mother.
