Also please note as written on the internal linked page noted above, the content on this website is the result of over 50 years of research by Suzi Sellers personally who is the researcher and author (format and layout). It is a compilation of many, many resources including real paper books ordered from all over the world, the use of the Park County Library resource systems, college texts and notes and experiences, and many unique sources such as the research done by pattern companies. The bulk of it is gathered from historic societies who specialize in a topic. Some of it is a summary made by Suzi.
We do not even suggest that this is footnoted or documented. If you read the introductory page, you will note we consider this an “ongoing essay” which is used specifically for purposes of design development and discussion with our customers. When direct quotes are used, or whole content from any given source, those are cited. Most of those are within the research pages for customer projects (such as the 1836 “Mill Girls” section or the 1862 “Lifestyles” section). We rarely link to outside sources, because we don’t use them.
