Here is Kat in her hat!

For this show, Kat depicted a traveling reporter from the “Big Apple”, a single woman who travels (scandelously) alone on the train to the Wild West to help solve a crime.  1895 is a the end of the Victorian era, and the start of the Edwardian, so Kat has key elements of the highest and newest fashion of the day, along with the “sporting” ensemble (stripes and “short” skirt) typical for travel and casual wear.

Of course, 1895 is most noteworthy for the gigantic leg o’ mutton sleeves.  Hers are only 2 yards of fabric stuffed into a 6″ diameter.  Sleeves at the time could have up to 20 yards of fabric in the top.  The challenge we find is keeping them poufed to their full size and getting through doors.
