… Colonial Fashion era, or what might be called “Regular people” (those who worked or ran businesses or farmed and who were not royalty), were wearing more simple and comfortable clothes constructed from easier to make and cheaper to get fabrics.
Through the 1770’s and into the 1790’s the French continued to build fashion to become excessive in design under the example of French Queen Marie Antoinette, while lower classes started to trend the other way.
